E-Learning Can Be Costly
Learning about technology can be very costly in both time, and money. Fear not, fair newbie! I have what may be the best of all solutions to your many needs.
Were you aware that Lynda.com and a large part of the United States library system have struck a deal to make e-training available to the masses? Were you likewise aware that it is available, for free, to those lucky enough to be under the umbrella of a participating library?
Lynda is perhaps the top e-learning website on the internet. It has thousands of courses that cover a huge variety of topics.
It’s true! All you need is a computer, access to the internet, a library card, and some time to absorb the abundance of training available to you. You could be a tech guru in no time.
Now, I could drag this article on and on, in a feeble attempt to get the Google gods to smile down upon me, and my website. I’m not going to do that. Not today. You have learning to do!
So…
If you are in the MIDSTATE area of Minnesota, and your library is part of the Great River Regional Library system you can use your library card to access these incredible resources!
Click HERE and enter your information. “How much information?” you ask? Not much at all. Your GRRL card number and pin. Submit that and it will take you to a page where you enter your name and email. That’s it. Takes all of 30 seconds. (15 for the speedsters among us).
What if I’m not in the area of the Great River Regional Library System?
You still might be able to use Lynda.com for free. Try opening Google and entering a search with “Lynda” + “Name of your library” (replace ‘Name of your library’ with the actual name of your library). Your answer may well present itself via Google search. If not, you can always look up the number of your local library so you can call and ask. Don’t be shy. This could be worth a TON of money to you!
That’s it for today. I hope you’ve found this to be worth while reading. Please consider subscribing via the form you see below. I will be adding new posts about other interesting topics as time goes on. 🙂
